Verdict | $62.3 MillionAlong with co-counsel, we represented two sisters who sustained severe and permanent injuries when their 1986 Bronco II 4×4 rolled over during a crash. The vehicle was manufactured by Ford Motor Company. We sued Ford on various theories of liability. We also sought punitive damages. The case proceeded to trial by jury upon the theory of strict liability in tort pursuant to Indiana’s Product Liability Act. Through the testimony of expert witnesses, as well as documents from within Ford Motor Company’s own records, we were able to prove the design of the vehicle was unsafe and could easily have been improved with minimal costs. The jury returned a verdict of $62.3 million.
